Best Hotel for Kids

Alethea, you are going to find alot of people who will tell you vegas is no place for children, but alot of people do take them. I read a few post on here lately were people have taken their children and had a really good time, try searching for Kids and Vegas, or TR with children/kids. As far as the best hotel, I have seen people recommend Circus Circus (alot of people do not like this casino), Excalibur, and Orleans mentioned alot when people ask this question. I am sure you will get alot of negative responses, but also alot of good information. Sweetsherry, is very courtesy and knowledgeable about vegas and can help you out alot.

Best Hotel for Kids

My kids liked circus circus they were 9 %26amp; 16 yrs. old girls. They wanted to ride the rides all the time wouldn%26#39;t let us gamble but at night. Had to take turns can%26#39;t leave them in room by themselves.

Hard to see inside all casinos with kids with you.

Hi

We have taken our family a few times and have stayed at different hotels each time. This easter we stayed at the Hilton but I would not go there on a first trip unless it was a real bargain. The Orleans is very good with your age range of kids and the pool area is quite good, maybe not the Mandalay Bay though. One thing to take in account is that the posher the hotel the more they charge for coffee soft drinks etc and when you have the family with you that can make an impact on your spending. We have never stayed at the Circus Circus and in the past I would have said never but we visited the other week and my 15 year old son has changed his mind on this property and said he liked it now. I must admit there was a good vibe coming from the casino and the many kids activities must be worth a thought. Only thing I would stress is if I was staying there I would only go for their best rooms and certainly never the manor rooms they look gross, like a run down travelodge. Overall with the fun of Vegas your kids will like anywhere!!

Just in case you have never been to Vegas, you can expect to find little business cards and free brochures with pictures of topless women scattered all over the city. They are typically ';escort'; service advertisements. It is Sin City and is why lots of people suggest keeping the kids out of the adult oriented city.

But, if you really insist on bringing kids there, Mandalay Bay is probably the best bet, predominantly because they have a great waterpark loaded with kids. Circus Circus is somewhat oriented towards kids, but is a dump.

The Orleans is nice, it has a movie theater, bowling alley and a kids area. It%26#39;s off strip, but they have a shuttle.

Just got back from Vegas and I would never bring kids there. It is definitely an adult only place. We don%26#39;t smoke and stayed in a non-smoking room and even the clothes that I didn%26#39;t wear stunk of smoke. Also, way too much skin being shown (I can understand at the pool) girls wearing nothing but tight t-shirt dresses (super short and cut down to you know where!). And as one poster mentioned the cards that are scattered all over the place (topless girls!). I would think twice about bringing kids there.

Circus Circus was very sleazy the last time I went...not in an adult way, but just dirty and dumpy. There were (absolutely not to mean anything bad) an abnormal amount of hispanic people there...I never saw that anywhere else on the strip. It was strange. But the casino was just lower class, the area wasn%26#39;t that great, and it%26#39;s a far walk from the main part of the strip.

Why go to Vegas if you%26#39;re hauling 3 kids around? That%26#39;s no fun for the parents...if you want a pool with a beach and you are coming from London..just go to the beach! Florida would be way closer for you anyway, and 100x more family friendly.

I have stayed at Paris countless times and there are always a lot of kids. The pool is kinda condusive to children as it is large and shallow and the hotel isn%26#39;t smoky at all compared to Harrah%26#39;s as an example.

We went last year with our 3 kids - all girls 12, 15 and 17 at the time. Had a great time. We were at the Mirage which was a good location - but nothing especially kid friendly about it (although my kids did love the dolphin habitat and did the ';trainer for a day thing';).

In terms of hotels I would look for something with a nice pool. Mandalay Bay if price is reasonable. Otherwise - Flamingo, MGM, Mirage would be good choices. Luxor or Excalibar also if you can get good rates. Important to get adjoining rooms but I think you can do that most places.

We went to Mystere and Mama Mia - both of which the kids loved. Also girls and Mom did lots of shopping at the Fashion Square Mall and Forum Shops and there are a couple big outlet malls also.

There are things in Vegas that are not great for kids to see - but certainly nothing that would shock your older ones. Overall we had a great time - and there were certainly plenty of things for teens to do there.

I would say anywhere except for the Flamingo.
