Your Best Vegas Buddy versus Worst

I normally go to LV by myself,or with my 9 year old DD- Tia (2 times last year) so I thought this last trip 3/31-04/3 I would go with my Boyfriend (now Ex BF) and see what it is like being there with my best friend and Lover.

Well he goes up the day before with his guy friend and they go out dancing and does not get back to his room until 4 am (now remember he his 46 yr old and if he stays up past 10pm at home that is late for him). To sum it up he is ready for bed by 10pm and is dead on his feet from 10-11pm I finally send him to the room without me and I am pissed since he promised to take me out to party my first night. The next day all he wants to do is stay in the sportsbook, dosnt want to walk around and see other hotels.

I have decided that I have more fun by myself or with my DD in LV since I really dont care if I gamble or not. Tia saw the daycare center on Orleans site and wants to go there to play with kids maybe we will visit there for a hour or so LOL.

Anybody else have bad travel partners to LV?

OOH! OOH! ME! When my dh and I go, we have a blast, because we%26#39;re best friends. However, 2 years ago, we went with another couple. They were fine, except that the woman is kind of... high maintenance, I guess I%26#39;d call it. Well, last year, the 4 of us went again. THIS time, they bickered constantly, culminating one evening in her crying and the two of them barely speaking. Not only that, but they always wanted to use the room as our base camp, which wouldn%26#39;t be bad, except it was at Luxor (not near much), and they were CONSTANTLY wanting to meet up throughout the day.

An example: The last day was our ';couples'; day, where we split up for the whole day. Well, DH and I hightailed it out of the room at 8 a.m. (we had been sleeping later). We went to the Excalibur and had breakfast (big mistake!), took the monorail to from MGM to Hilton and then walked to the Stardust, and finally took a cab back to Luxor. So that all took a while, right? You guys know distances. They had not even left the room yet because she was still getting ready. We have since vowed never to travel with friends again.

Lowerance after your last trip with Mom I have decided your wife deserves to be decreed a ';Saint'; it sounds like she is a wonderfull person.

at one point his friend called him 3 times during a half hour period while we were eating a nice evening meal at MAG and he kept answering the phone when I told him not to.

So I end the evening crying myself.

Hey I need some hotel advice- I can book Orleans through the mardi gras package and they will give me a room for 50.00 each night for 3 nights even though it is a 2 night package (go figure)

Do the kids really like it there? My Daughter wants to stay there since it seems to be over run with Kids. LOL

I can stay there for 163.00 after tax for all three nights, I have a fantastic rate at TI 107.00 per night strip view. Would you guys stay there to save $160.00? remember we will be spending quite a bit of time in the room during the evening time, since I make my DD go to bed at a reasonable hour even in LV.

Have either one of you slept in their regular rooms before (at Orleans?)

Do you think I would still have time to book Orleans at 5/28 for 8/19 trip? enough time? I want to check out the beds there when I go for Memorial day

Uh...thanks for the sentiment, but I hope that is the ONLY time someone says ';Happy Mother%26#39;s Day'; to me! I don%26#39;t have kids. :)

OMG and I normally dont wish Women that.. I have had the worst Sat of my life.

I was coming put of the rest room in the deparment store Kohls and this crazy lady comes up to me and procedes to get in my face- mind you she is shorter and I probably weigh 100 pds more than her-

She accuses me of stealing her wedding ring she left in the bathroom, she kept saying it over and over and she followed me around the store, mngr threw her out since it appeared to her that I was about the deck that crazy lady.

It would have been funny if it happened in LV and to someone else ..

Well, I hope tomorrow is better! You can%26#39;t possibly run into a crazy lady at Kohl%26#39;s 2 days in a row! Why would she take her wedding ring off in a public bathroom in department store in the first place??

be flexible! I travel with my family, employees and business associates - everyone has different tastes, body clocks and ways they want to spend free time. if you choose to travel with others remember, it is NOT about you!!

Meet, talk over plans, decide who wants to do what - you do not all HAVE to do the same thing 24/7. determine when and wher eyou will meet. presumably you enjoy your companions company otherwise you would not have planned a trip together. i see many shows I HATE (mama mia, UGH) and never let the others know, since they want to go. so what?

Bridgefan- my Ex and I had long discussions on what our expectations were re our trip since he is stubborn..

OMG he threw all those plans out the window-

My Daughter and I have fun in LV since she is so easy to please- she likes sitting on the covered patio at TI and playing cards and drinking virgin margaritta%26#39;s. We both like walking the strip at night well- until 830pm-then back to the room to her dismay.
