opinions on South Pointe

Just wondering what people%26#39;s opinions are of the South Pointe. Their prices have grabbed my attention and I can%26#39;t look away. I don%26#39;t care that it%26#39;s 6 miles off strip. I%26#39;m going with someone who said it doesn%26#39;t matter to her but I don%26#39;t want her to get there and regret it (not that I think she would.) Any opinions on the joint? Any additional options relative to distance from strip?

Thanx

Next to MGM, it%26#39;s my favorite Vegas hotel and casino.

See my review. Last I saw they had a shuttle to MB.

And you can always trust Lowrance!

I have stayed at the South Pointe and the only thing that I can say that I didn%26#39;t like was how far it was away from the strip. They do have a free shuttle to the strip or you can ride the strip trolley for $1.75. The slots were loose, the food was good and they have the cheapest liquor prices in the gift shop that I have ever seen.

The rooms at the South Point (no ';e';) are as nice as most on The Strip for about half the price. Shuttle will take you to and from Mandalay Bay. Low minimums for gambling, slots are not as tight as at other casinos, food is good and at reasonable prices. Movie theater, poker room, great sportsbook.

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised with South Point when we stayed last year. Pool area was nicely laid out (shade available), room was huge and very clean. The gift shop items (water, alcohol, etc.) were reasonable priced, as were the restaurants. In the casino I was able to find low minimums, cocktail waitresses passed by frequently, and my husband received so many drink vouchers at the sports book we would up giving about half away (they are date stamped). Getting to and from the strip without a car wasn%26#39;t difficult at all. Movie theater, bowling and bingo on premises were neat features, and we even got to see an equestrian event at their arena for free. We would definitely stay here again.

South Point is a great place to stay. They have just about everything you need, plenty of restaurants, pool, lots of slots and table games, great rooms at the cheapest prices and it%26#39;s new.

Another vote for South Point. We stayed there over Easter weekend and were really happy with the place. Our room was large and clean, with an oversized bathroom. The cafe and deli offered good food at reasonable prices (the eclairs at del mar deli were amazing!). The casino had lots of slots to choose from, and it was never so busy that I couldn%26#39;t find a machine I liked. We rented a car (about $115 total for 4 days) so getting around was very easy, but they do offer a shuttle. We plan to stay here on our next trip!

I%26#39;m staying at South Point next week but I have been researching it for a few months and have really heard nothing bad about it other than the distance from the strip. Sounds like they have great rooms, a nice casino, reasonable restaurants and a nice pool area. I couldn%26#39;t pass up the rates either but based on all the information I have gathered I think I will be pleasantly surprised at the facility. Hope you are too!

I just booked my group there too. If you book via Southwest Airlines website it appears prices are even better ($50 for mid week). Click through the special Deals on hotels links. That is what I did. I have young kids to grandparents in my group, and this seems like it will fit our bill to a T.
