Single, 30s and on a budget, which hotel?

I%26#39;ve been reading some books and web sites about Las Vegas. It seems like most of the casinos are either geared towards rich business travelers, older vacationers, locals, or young people with cars from California who won%26#39;t mind being away from the action on the strip.

I%26#39;m in my mid-30%26#39;s, single, and usually travel on a budget. So I%26#39;d like to find a place that%26#39;s $100 a night or less. I%26#39;m from Seattle, WA, would rather not rent a car and would prefer to be close to the action at a hotel that attracts other young people - either on the strip or downtown. I%26#39;d also like low limit gambling, video poker, blackjack, etc.. Which is the hotel that caters to my needs, if any?

Depends on what days of the week you%26#39;re going to be there. If you%26#39;re there Sun-Thu you can usually get a decent rate at Paris or Bally%26#39;s (probably Monte Carlo too) which are on the strip and right in the middle of the action. If your dates are flexible I%26#39;d look for dates that have the cheapest rates.

Single, 30s and on a budget, which hotel?

Hooters Hotel, running a special For $50 a night ($75 weekends), you have to call their ';800'; number to get it though as it%26#39;s not posted on their web site (but the ';800'; number is)

Flamingo for me and my 30-something friends! Great pool, location, price....we love it there.

I would suggest TI or Harrahs. TI is a fun casino with a young vibe in it and close to a lot of other casinos. Harrahs is also fun with Casino Royale next door. For attracting young people TI Would be my pick of the two. The Palms or Hard Rock attract more young people but both are off the strip and I think out of your price range.

I read that the Monte Carlo has a clientelle of middle aged and middle class - not exactly me. Paris seems more like a romantic type spot where you would bring your wife or girlfriend. Also seems a little too swanky for me. That Hooters deal sound pretty good actually, but it is off of the strip and I think I%26#39;d be depressed if I went all the way to Vegas to stay at HOOTERS?

Bally%26#39;s or The Flamingo, mabe. Can you stay there for less than $100? I%26#39;m not sure.

What about the Tropicana? Are there any hotels downtown where you would find other young people? Or is it all older folks and such down there?

Probably catch flack for this, but Middle aged, older folks and families make up the majority of people in Vegas and they are still the life blood of the town money wise. Nothing wrong with that as everyone comes to Vegas to have fun. They (we) do tend to stay away from Hooters (thats actually why they are running their special right now...to attract more women and older folks, although the special rates are for anyone), the Hard Rock and the Palms (on weekends). But Hooters does have the best deals right now. They are one block off the strip, across from the MGM Grand so the location is actually not bad at all. Nothing downtown is geared to the younger crowd, but is quite cheap and has better gambling odds than the strip. You could Stay at Bills Hotel (formerly the Barbery Coast) for about $100 a night and have the use of the Flamingo%26#39;s facilities next door (including the pool) as they are now owned by the same company. Choices are unlimited and you%26#39;ll find all types of people at all locations. And your probably not gonna spend much time in your own hotel anyway

You can stay downtown for less than $100/nt, but I think if you%26#39;ve never been you%26#39;d have more fun on the strip. I%26#39;d suggest either Bally%26#39;s, Flamingo or Harrah%26#39;s to find younger people, and good access to the rest of the action on the strip. If you travel during the week (Sun-Thurs) you should be able to find your price range at those locations....Harrah%26#39;s for sure. Good luck!

I%26#39;m 32, single, and stayed at Monte Carlo on my last trip. I didn%26#39;t feel like it was mostly middle-aged people at all. Felt quite comfortable there, plus you%26#39;re close enough to many other hotels if you want to explore a bit.

Hooters, in spite of it%26#39;s name, is the best value for prime location, close to a lot of great places. In room coffee and 12 noon checkout, 2 hard to find features, but offered at Hooters

Monte Carlo is nicer for room quality, and near NYNY and many other nice places with many clubs and bars

Harrahs and Flamingo are great locations that oftern go cheap

if you are there on a weekend or during a busy time, most of the places named will be out of your budget.

in that case, i would consider imperial palace (check the ';room specials'; heading under ';stay';). it%26#39;s a pretty basic budget hotel, but it%26#39;s right in the middle of the action.
