Unfriendly dealers

When I go to Vegas (like any other vacation), I like to relax. I don%26#39;t worry about too many things. The bed is a little hard, who cares I only sleep a few hours a day. I have to wait in line for the Paris buffet. Who cares, I know I will get seated and have a great meal. Slow drink services, I%26#39;ll bump my tip up and see if that speeds them up. Either way I%26#39;m getting free drinks. The one thing that drives me nuts is unfriendly dealers. Talk to me, interact with the table, at least have a freakin smile on your face while you take my money. Make my stay in your casino better by aknowledging me and I will stay in your casino.

So in your experiences, do you have a casino that you just don%26#39;t like to go to because of the dealers? In reverse, is there a casino you go to because of the dealers?

In my case, I try to avoid NYNY, I just don%26#39;t seem to find anyone friendly there. Everyone has a frown on their face and no one talks.

I love going to the Excalibur and Luxor because of the dealers. They are always friendly (especially the poker dealers at the Ex) and make my stay more enjoyable.

Unfriendly dealers

Deezerk, Worse than the non smiling is the disapproving. You know the face that says ';you should know better than to waste your money gambling';. I hate that.

Unfriendly dealers

yes, there is a dealer at sahara that i just adore, he is a croupier at roulette and he always hits my numbers and if he doesn%26#39;t i actually believe he wanted too. I look for him every trip.

I also had a jerk dealer at sahara who was not nice at all, i think he liked it when i lost..needless to say, i take these things in consideration as I tip.

The sad part about this is that these unfriendly dealers get as much of the tips as the nice dealers, since tips are pooled and then shared by all.

Prv, I had that happen to me last year. I was gambling at Mandalay Bay and the table is slow, its just me and my 2 friends playing Pai Gow and someone hits big on a slot machine not too far away. I make the comment that someone%26#39;s having a good night and the dealer makes the comment, ';Just another person that will blow it all before the weekends over just like all the other degenerates.';

I%26#39;m had to do a double take wondering if I had heard her right. Well I looked at my friends and gave them a nod. I turned to the dealer and said, ';Well we%26#39;ve wasted enough of your valuable time, we%26#39;ve got drugs to take and hookers to pick up!'; and we walked off. You should have scene the look on her face. It was this utter disgust. She either thought how rude or I was right they are a bunch of degenerates.

There is one roulette ';dealer'; at MC who looks miserable. Not only does he not smile he actually has a scowl on his face. My husband is one of those that the dealers and other players love because he is very interactive, always calls the dealers by name etc. He even tried to engage this guy- no dice. We saw him on another trip and avoided his table like the plague. In general though, I have found that I can get most people to smile.

i agree completely, when i was at the MGM i had this one guy at the WPT table who was incredibly funny. I won a little, but we had so much fun that i ended up putting side bets for him the entire time he was there, guys/girls like that are what make the experience worthwhile, and yes while they do share tips, you can always call the pit boss over to tell them how good of a job he/she is doing, if i ever find the guy again i%26#39;m definitely going to do just that!

Some are nice, some are not so nice. Some barely speak English. Maybe you have a nice one, then he goes on break. Maybe you have a nice one, but you%26#39;re losing your shirt, so you go to another table, and the dealer%26#39;s nasty but you win. When you go for several days you come across so many dealers, so many different people sitting at your table, that in the long run it doesn%26#39;t really matter at all to me.

The only time I really remember ALL the dealers (and all the employees, actually) having an attitude problem was at the Reno Hilton. I swear, NOBODY was happy who worked there. But other than that it%26#39;s really a mixed bag, and half the time I don%26#39;t even notice.

Harrah%26#39;s Las vegas IMO has the nicest dealers followed by Bally%26#39;s as bally%26#39;s has some old timers working in the morning and they will terll stories about the MGM nd Bonanza days....

The meanest sourest dealers I have ever encountered in Las Vegas have always been at the Bellagio. They hate those big black shuffle/deal snail shaped things cause they never get a break.

*However, the meanest dealer I have ever encountered in my entire gambling life was at Harrah%26#39;s in Reno. There was a dealer who looked just like Vincent Price who was just taking everybodies money and had this terrible smirk on his face. Scary...

Take a moment and think about how many dealers there are in Vegas. What are the odds there wouldn%26#39;t be some rude or unpleasant ones?

Keep in mind, there are cultural factors at work too. A lot of casino dealers around the country are Asian, and many Asian cultures emphasize a quiet reserve rather than an outgoing friendliness. Especially if the dealer doesn%26#39;t speak great English.

The friendliest dealers I have encountered in Las Vegas are at the Golden Gate. However, the friendliest dealers I have encountered anywhere were in Biloxi, Mississippi.

interesting - I would not put up with uncomfortable beds, long lines or bad drink service. I don%26#39;t think a meal at the Paris buffet is great - it is OK, and certainly not worht spending any more than a few minutes waiting for - this food is just ';fuel';. I like convenience and wasting time for me isn%26#39;t.

I don%26#39;t neceassarily want the dealer to be friendly, they do have to run a good table, be courteous and above all patient with new players. It%26#39;s been forever since i can remember not liking a dealer - those at Wynn, venetian, MB are all excellent. it%26#39;s a tough job, standing long hours dealing with people who can at times be jerks.

There is something for everyone and everyone has different tastes - you can always move on - or wait a few minutes and the dealer changes. if they come back to your table next rotation you can move to a pit they aren%26#39;t working.
