1st trip to Vegas in June

It is kind of a last minute tihng, so please help me, I am watching prices to up daily (especially air fare).

I am looking for a nice pool, and a leisure trip to Vegas. Is there such a thing? HA!

I want to walk around the stirp, gamble a little, check out all the free sites, and hopefully not spend too much money.

My main question is can anyone recommend a hotel with great pool? I considered the stratosphere, but read many of you saying it is a long walk if you want to visit the strip.

My priorities are pool, checking out the strip sites, and comfort.

Any advice for saving money on meals, etc. would be appreciated too. Thanks!

Forget about the Stratosphere. Try Flamingo, MGM or Monte Carlo for great pools with decent hotel rates.

From what I understand, Mandalay Bay has the best pool scene, although I don%26#39;t know how relaxing it would be.

hey- I am taking my 1st Vegas trip in June as well. Wanted to stay central and a good pool was a must- we decided on the Mirage. Their midweek rates seem comparable to MGM, Paris, Venetian... The location is perfect for us, and the pool area looks oh so nice!

I have heard the Flamingo has a good pool also.

Mirage has a great location and pool.

The Tropicana, right across from MGM, also has a very nice pool (waterfalls, swim-up bar/blackjack, a %26#39;river%26#39; connecting to another small pool area) and the rates should be the lowest of any hotel mentioned so far. I highly recommend it, not bad for a first time choice.

The Trop, MGM, and Monte Carlo are at the southern end of the strip. For a first time it%26#39;s better, I think, to stay ';center strip';, which would mean trying the Flamingo, which has the lowest rates for center strip and the best pool, pretty much. It will cost more than the Trop or Monte Carlo or even MGM, though; still a good deal though. Overall the Flamingo is the best value in Vegas, in my opinion.

Also, you can try Bill%26#39;s Gambling Hall, which is right next door to the Flamingo; both Bill%26#39;s and Flamingo are now the same company (owned by Harrah%26#39;s). You can try giving them a call and asking if their guests are allowed to use the Flamingo pool, I had heard a while back that they were allowing it, but I%26#39;m not sure if that%26#39;s still available; or it might even be official now. Best that you call and check, because if they let you use the Flamingo pool, you%26#39;ll be in a great location and probably save a few bucks over the cost of the Flamingo, while still having that great location and the Flamingo pool.

Good luck!

For a first timer Flamingo or Mirage is a good bet. both have nice pools and a good mid strip location. =The Mirage is a little pricier but has better food. and is a little classier.

Manalay bay has a great pool but it gets very crowded. I personally don%26#39;t like a south strip location but you might. If you wish to get ato a lit of places walking, a mid strip location is best.

I would also pick the Mirage or Flamingo. They both have very nice pool and they are well located. You can walk to many of the other casinos from either one of them.

The Strat is at the far north of the strip and MB is at the far south of the strip. They are not centrally located.

Flamingo--the food at the snack bar is good and ceaper than the Mirage and they have 2 for 1 for happy hour, never see that at the mirage, if money is no object I don%26#39;t hate the Mirage but I think you were looking for cheap. Also the Flamingo has cheap places that are walkable like Imperial Palace for cheap food. The Flamingo also has free wildlife, free is good, the stuff at the Mirage out back while neat is not free, the dolphins are cool, love the dolphins but again $$$.
