TR May 10 - 13 part 2

ok... so we hang out at the top of VooDoo for awhile. And then my one friend wanted to go down to Coyote Ugly. We take the shuttle back to Caesars and then walk across the street and catch the monorail. We get off at MGM and then walk across the street to Coyote Ugly. The bar was pretty packed. We only had to pay $5 to get in. Not too bad I think. Ok, this bar sucked major a$$!! I don%26#39;t know if it was because it was a Thursday or what, but I was NOT impressed. We hang out here long enough for a drink. We then hike back to MGM and onto the monorail again back to Caesars.

We stop and gamble a little bit on the way back to our rooms and then head up for bed. Slots were tight for ALL of us at Caesars this trip.

FRIDAY

My roomie and I get up at 8 and head down over to the Qua spa at Caesar%26#39;s. We did their 60 minute Signature Hourglass treatment. I had a half hour classic massage and a half hour facial. It was GREAT!!!! My roomie had a stone massage and a facial. The thing I liked about this treatment was that you can discuss with your therapist what you%26#39;d like done or suggestions before you start your treatments. It%26#39;s a very relaxing atmosphere. The Roman baths are great, the Arctic room is great (yes it actually snows in here) and the jacuzzi was great. We didn%26#39;t use the steam room or the fitness room.

After the spa we felt like jello so we decided to all meet at the pool for awhile. We get down there and meet for lunch at the poolside cafe. I had a hot dog and fries (hey I know... but I%26#39;m from the midwest!) our tab for the 4 of us was just over a hundred. Not too bad I think. They even have Lava Flows at this cafe... they were good but not as good as the ones you get in Maui!!!

Friends that met the roomie and I down at the pool decide to head back up. It%26#39;s pretty friggin hot out. Roomie and I find chairs and proceed to sit out and get some sun for an hour at the far back pool.

We head back up to our room about 2 and just collapse on our beds and talk about going back the spa but we can%26#39;t get up. So we hang in our room till about 5 and start to get ready. We have reservations at Maggiano%26#39;s at 7... thank god this room has two bathrooms!!! :)

We%26#39;re ready about 6:30 and head to Maggiano%26#39;s. Cab driver this time is a friggin psycho. Got us there quickly but reminded me cabbies in Chicago. I think he freaked my friends out a bit. We head inside and head to the bar... I have a good college friend who lives in Henderson that is meeting up with us and 2 more friends flying in from Minneapolis that are meeting up with us there. Whew...

We sit have have some cocktails. They have this to die for pomegranate martini. YUMMMY!!!! We get our table, we have a lovely view of the strip and the Wynn - I order bruschetta for an appetizer and friends order calamari. Everything is superb! I had the Fett Alfredo with Broccoli and chicken. Make sure that you order 1/2 orders of the pasta... it%26#39;s enough for 2 of you. It looked like i didn%26#39;t even put a dent in it!! But, I sent the extras home with the g/f that lives in Henderson so no waste there!

We leave Maggiano%26#39;s and head back to Caesar%26#39;s to get VIP guestlist pass for Pure I had found on Napkinnights.com. One friend from Minneapolis goes back to their hotel (Flamingo) and other friend (best friend from college) comes with the 4 of us staying in Caesar%26#39;s. Well, let me tell you... you should have seen the line. We all went and got in line behind all these girls figuring hey, we could be a bachelorette party if that%26#39;s what it was for. But, turns out there is a girls only line. We were into Pure in less than 15 minutes on at

11 pm on a Friday night. HOLY CRAP!!! It%26#39;s pretty cool on the inside. VERY packed. 2 friends staying at Caesars say it%26#39;s too packed and head back to their room.

They DO NOT scrimp on the alcohol when they pour tho. You are getting your moneys worth. I ordered an Absolut %26amp; Lemonade... um I had to ask for more lemonade. It was pretty much straight vodka. So hey... that%26#39;s a good thing tho. We wander around Pure for a bit and then head up the stairs to their patio. Patio is pretty nice... good views, easier to get to the bar. But once again, NO place to sit unless you have bottle service. Hung out up there for a bit, then took the elevator back down. We stood by the back bar near the elevators and then we hear this chick talking on the microphone... guess what, it%26#39;s Pink!!! So that was pretty cool she was there. By, 1:30 we had had enough of being jostled around and headed back out into the casino. Roomie went to go to bed and b/f from college and I gambled till about 3 (she won $50... I%26#39;m still breaking even). Then we cabbed her back to the Flamingo and I went to bed!

Will continue on with part 3....

TR May 10 - 13 part 2

You guys are pretty active! Sounds like very good food. Wife lovesd calamari. Why am I suddenly craving Absolut and Lem?

Very good read so far. Looking forward to part 3.

TR May 10 - 13 part 2

Lowrance - Yes summer usually brings the absolut %26amp; lemonades out for me... :)

Your next trip out, you guys should sign up on Maggiano%26#39;s website and they will send you a free coupon for something. I got a free appetizer (because I signed up) and free dessert (for my birthday)! :)

Their calamari is very good. There%26#39;s only one other place i will eat it besides there.

Thanks for the tip!

Loddii,

What is a Lava Flow?? Sounds interesting.

Entertaining onward.

popoki321 - here%26#39;s a recipe for them... they are YUMMY!!!

Lava Flow recipe

Ingredients

Scale ingredients to servings

1 oz light rum

1 oz Malibuċş coconut rum

2 oz strawberries

1 banana

2 oz pineapple juice

2 oz coconut cream

Blend banana, coconut cream, and pineapple juice in a blender and set aside. In the bottom of a hurricane glass, stir together both rums and strawberries.

Pour banana/coconut/pineapple mix slowly into the glass. The strawberry/rum mix should creep up the sides of the glass to make a wonderful looking (and tasting) summertime cocktail!
