Checking email in Vegas

I have noticed that some hotels charge quite abit for internet use. Does anyone know of place one could go to check their email while in Vegas and not have to pay so much?

If you have a cell phone why not use it?

internet access a few bucks if the cell phone option doesn%26#39;t work for you.

the public library is free - off strip, takes time, you must get a library crad. A lot of time to save a few bucks - it is a free option

I think I remember seeing a Cyber Cafe near Fatburger. Maybe someone on here can confirm that.

A lot of the hotels have business centers with computers. You could call the hotel you%26#39;re staying at %26amp; ask them what the cost is.

You%26#39;re on vacation. Nothing important ever comes through e-mail, if it was really important they%26#39;d spend the $.41 for a stamp and mail you the information. Check your e-mail when you get back to the office.

There are places like the coffee shop in Miracle Mile shops that have free wireless access.

Ask around, someone will know.

I%26#39;ve seen a few signs in front of ';mini mart'; type shops both on the Strip and Downtown advertising Internet access- some seem to be less expensive than the hotels. They generally have one computer station and no printers attached at all- but if you have to read and answer only you might look for the signs- usually prominently displayed along the sidewalk. These are the sort of places that sell bottled water etc. Might be more convenient than having to search out the Public Library and join up- though that is certainly an option. I can%26#39;t remember the specific prices I saw, but didn%26#39;t seem as high as the hotels- most of those are now charging a $5 minimum and about $1 pp to print. Several Downtown hotels that used to have free computers in their lobby now have a ';vending machine '; type station that takes a credit card and /or dollar bills. I really miss the good ole days!

You are going on vacation and want to check email? That is like carrying a cell phone with you on vacation. WHY?

There are various reasons for checking emails while on holidays, we are travelling from Australia and one obvious reason is cost (far cheaper for our kids to send emails than call us all the time), and also with the 18hour time difference it is not always convenient to call.

I love this forum and have found it extremely helpful, but if some one asks a question its because it is important or relevant to them.

some of us still have lives and responsibilities and families even while on vacation, so don%26#39;t let the others get you down. if i could only take a vacation when absolutely nothing else was going on in my life, i would never take a vacation.

I assume the wifi spots won%26#39;t help these folks unless they are bringing a laptop with them- maybe they can clarify if they are- I assumed they would not have their own computer. Lots of choices if they do, of course.

We hate paying for internet access too! It seems like these little luxuries should be like shampoo and soap - expected when you pay over $100 a night. I%26#39;m also upset about the extra phone charge. The last time we were at the Luxor they sprang this on us. Even though we never touched the phone!
