howdie folks.;)

MY boyfriend and i where going to stay at the MGMGrand but someone has told us that there is a caged lion in the reception???i cant believe this???not this day and age....anyone know if its true of here or any other hotels ...eg The Balagio?

They have several young lions that are in a natural looking glass enclosure. They have trees and rocks to climb on, they rotate them throughout the day.

The Mirage used to have (they still may be there) white tigers in an enlcosure off the casino floor. They have an outdoor area with tigers, dolphins and elephants called the Secret Garden.

Mirage and Golden Nuggets have shark tanks that are free to look at. Mandalay bay has a Shark Encounter that you pay to go through.

The lions are in a large glass enclosed area- not a cage.

Yes there are lions on display at the MGM. The white tigers are at the Mirage.

Not sure what you mean by %26#39; this day and age %26#39; but if that offends your sensibilities maybe you should choose a different place.

Hooters has lots of nice captive Hooters on display.

The elephant at the Secret Garden died. I don%26#39;t know if she has been replaced.

There are also animals at the back of the Flamingo- but they have removed the cute stinky penguins.

';The MGM Lion Habitat is a 5,000-square-foot, floor-to-ceiling glassed in simulated jungle/viewing area where you can see adult and young lions up close.';

Darn it, it just lost the link where I got this. Anyway, you get the idea, they%26#39;re not in a ';cage';

The lion is there to enforce security. It can smell fear. Try to check in AFTER feeding time when it%26#39;s most content.

As for ';The Balagio';, be careful of the crocodiles in the fountain area...

I think the Crocs hang out in the Venetian canals now... some times on people feet!

That would explain my recent application for Gondoleer acceptance. They must be losing them right and left! C%26#39;mon Strip, let%26#39;s get that App in!

Way to go, Lowrance! I knew all the practicing would pay off!!

';The lion is there to enforce security. It can smell fear. Try to check in AFTER feeding time when it%26#39;s most content.'; LOL Lowrance! Although I always thought they kept the lions there to feed the children that people brought to the casino... hehehe...
