Slow out of the gate - TR part 1

Well, it was a week filled with firsts and many memorable moments.

This started many months ago when my husband surprised me with a Vegas/Cruise package to celebrate our upcoming 15th anniversary.

Flight out was at 7:45 pm. Get there 2 hours ahead and clear security with no problems. Plop down, grab book and proceed to wait out the remaining hour or so. Look up and see ';delay'; on our flight - now 1/2 hour later. Sigh, and return to book. Husband has got the %26#39;gonna wander around%26#39;s%26#39; so off he goes.

Flight gets called - we are in row 18. They call for first class/children/disabled first. Husband stands up and says lets go. Huh?? He smiles and shows that he%26#39;s upgraded us to first class.

Hugs, kisses and I do a happy dance while strolling down to the plane.

';Care for a drink?'; Please and thank you. ';Warm nibbles?'; Please and thank you. ';Another drink?'; Smiles all around.

Wonderful flight to say the least.

Land and proceed to luggage carousel where we wait, and wait and wait. I keep looking at my watch thinking I%26#39;m supposed to meet lovingvegas - like now.

Finally get aboard bus to MC. Our assistant says that the weekend had been extremely busy and rooms were still being cleaned for our arrival (about 20 of us stayed at the MC - triple that at the Excaliber) Get to hotel and they are slow in getting us checked in - rooms still aren%26#39;t ready (12:45???) I%26#39;m smiling through all of this.

Get room key - 6th floor. Don%26#39;t care, show me the elevator please I%26#39;m on a mission. Open door, check out room (very nice, well appointed and very clean) and start unpacking - husband hands

me a drink, we clink to Las Vegas and proceed downstairs.

It%26#39;s late and I head to the front bar that lovinvegas and I had agreed upon. Place is empty - literally empty from mid casino towards the front doors.

Oh well, it was almost 2 hours past the time I had hoped to meet up and I wasn%26#39;t expecting her to wait...threw in a ten into a nickel machine and before I had hit the max spin button I hear this voice.

'; are you by chance'; in this accent I have never heard before. Spun around and here was this petite blond with the biggest smile.

Gave her a big hug and we proceeded to gab. What a wonderful person - I wish I would have gotten in earlier as we could have done some damage at the bar.

By now I had hit the wall, adrenaline had ceased to exist and the %26#39;need to go horizonal%26#39; kicked in.

Said our goodbyes, and proceeded upstairs. Climbed into an extremely comfy bed and drifted off.

It was a slow beginning but I loved meeting Lovin - BTW Gerry says Hi and he wants to meet again if we can plan up. I think ours can yak business while we lounge around the pool and throw suggestions for evening entertainment.

Low - I was thinking of you whenever I looked across at the MGM.

Love - I saw this girl in a featherheadress at Bally%26#39;s and asked her if she had to open the sunroof to go down the strip - what a look I got.

Ooooh jealous of such a hubby!
