Show Before Flight

Hi Everyone,

I am hoping that someone can help me. My flight back to Philly leaves Vegas at 10:50 pm with US Airways. We have one small suitcase and 1 carryon. Is there anyway we can can do a web check in for our return flight......drop the baggage at the skycap or airport kiosk line, or the US Airways ticket counter. And see a show at 7 pm? Also I can%26#39;t tell what time the shows end we want to see Mystique. I know this is pushing it but I am tring to squeeze in this show. Thanks in Advance!! :-)

Show Before Flight

The problem is the security line. It%26#39;s usually VERY quick, but occasionally it gets pretty long. You also have to factor in traffic which is equally inconsistent. How important is it for you to get home at the scheduled time and with your luggage? If it doesn%26#39;t really matter, then go for it. If it does, I wouldn%26#39;t chance it. You%26#39;d probably make it, but like you said, you really are pushing it.

Oh, and you can drop off your luggage early. How early varies by airline, and I don%26#39;t know about doing it anywhere other than the airport. I%26#39;ve done it for a flight to London where I dropped off my luggage at 5 a.m., went to work, and came back at noon for my flight.

Usually they recommend getting to that airport 2 hours prior to flight time to get through security etc., which would mean 8:50. The show would probably be out about 8:30 or so, plus you%26#39;d need travel time to the airport. That might be a tight fit, but I guess it could be done. Personally, I don%26#39;t think I%26#39;d try it. What day of the week are you traveling?

We are leaving on Sunday, May 20th at 10:50 pm. I read online that we can ';drop off'; baggage. I don%26#39;t know how that would work though. This is my first Domestic flight :-)

BTW, here is what the FAQs at the US Airways site says.

Check-in for your flight as early as 24 hours and up to 90 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time. If you are checking bags take them to any US Airways skycap, the airport kiosk line, or the US Airways ticket counter.

Can I check my bags if I use Web Check-in?

Yes. If you are checking bags take them to any US Airways skycap, the airport kiosk line (where available), or the US Airways ticket counter.

Thanks again for helping me out everyone. I really appreciate the replies!!

Is Mistique anything like Mystere?

LOL...sorry. This is my first vegas trip and all the different names are getting mixed up.

I meant Mystere. LOL Mystique is JUST LIKE Mystere!!

Mystere, like most standard Vegas shows, lasts about 90 minutes...

So, you will be filing out of crowded theater by about 8:45.

Making it to the airport and getting through security to the gate wihtin a couple of hours would be no probelm, except...

Transportation to the airport may be tough. If you have a rental car in self-parking, you should still OK, but it could be tight if you have any lines or shuttle problems.

If you are counting on taking a taxi or getting your car from valet, you may not have enough time. The cab line is typically long after the show and valet is also backed-up. It can be upwards of 20 or 30 minutes to get a cab/car and get off the property.

If you don%26#39;t have a rental (remember to self-park if you do), a solution would be to splurge on a limo. It would be waiting right outside the TI door and could whisk you to the terminal in no time.

Just see an afternoon show. You can check out of your hotel and have the bell desk hold your bag till you get ready to leave for the airport. Mac King is a good choice. Strictly Ballroom at the Golden Nugget downtown has afternoon performances on the weekend. Aladdin always has a comedy or magic show in the afternoon. Dirk Arthur at the Trop is good, too. Another option would be walk down to the Trop for the Titanic Exhibit. You can go at your own pace. Then, if you get out of your show around 4:00 p.m. or so, you have time for a bite to eat, one last stroll to the Bellagio fountains for a couple shows, then catch your shuttle or taxi to the airport around 7:30 or 8:00 p.m. Personally, I wouldn%26#39;t cut it too close. Airport security can go swiftly, or you may end up in a line for a while. That%26#39;s just he way airline travel is nowadays.
