? What happens when Police take people out of casinos??

Was at TI last week and a lady had a stroller ,( which I thought was not allowed in casino area) She was playing the slots and was apparently winning and would not leave with the child and finally the police came after about a half hour.. We were in the bar and this was what was happening at 11am.. So anybody know do they press charges or do they just escort you out of hotel?? Frankly I%26#39;m guessing there was a child could have been a dog never saw or heard a peep out of the stroller and it was a ways away ...Anybody there know what happened...

A dog?? Was it Paris Hilton...lol

Was it the actual police or just hotel security ?....

Unless the kid was actively gambling, there was no ';crime'; being committed; although some on this forum would contend putting a child through the experience may constitute abuse.

It is incumbent upon the ';house'; to ensure there is no underage drinking or gambling, or children loitering in the gaming areas, as part of being a licensed joint.

they take you for breakfast at Peppermill... Nah-if you have broken a law, you will be arrested (fighting for example), but if you just break a hotel policy or are suspected of counting cards or the like, they will usually just take you off the property and ask you not to return.

I beg to differ with amberloo, having a child in a gaming area is a crime. The charge would be ';Contributing to the deliquency of a minor.'; I believe that is the reason you see the signs posted in the casino saying that under NRS (Whatever the number is) minors are not allowed in the gaming area. An 18 year old would be charged on their own if found there by the police. A baby in a stoller, well, the parent or guardian that is ';Supposed to be'; caring for the child would be charged.

Most likely it was not the police that this person saw, but Casino Security.

RUSure

You make me laugh at all the advice and comments you make yet I my opinion you don%26#39;t know what you are talking about. If someone is told to leave (for any reason) and they don%26#39;t. The casino can and will call the police and it is trespassing. They will be escorted out of the hotel and arrested if they come back.

This woman will not appear on the 2010 federal census.

The desert flowers are beautiful in secluded areas of the desert.

OK, RU ya getta a lil%26#39; dap on this one....

While the crime is not ';Contributing to the delequincy of a minor';. It is a misdemeanor on the part of the house, its employees, the parent and the child for an underage person to be in an operating gaming area according to Nevada Revised Statue 463.359, which reads:

';NRS 463.350 Gaming or employment in gaming prohibited for persons under 21.

1. A person under the age of 21 years shall not:

(a) Play, be allowed to play, place wagers at, or collect winnings from, whether personally or through an agent, any gambling game, slot machine, race book, sports pool or pari-mutuel operator.

(b) Loiter, or be permitted to loiter, in or about any room or premises wherein any licensed game, race book, sports pool or pari-mutuel wagering is operated or conducted.

(c) Be employed as a gaming employee except in a counting room.

2. Any licensee, employee, dealer or other person who violates or permits the violation of any of the provisions of this section and any person, under 21 years of age, who violates any of the provisions of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor.

3. In any prosecution or other proceeding for the violation of any of the provisions of this section, it is no excuse for the licensee, employee, dealer or other person to plead that he believed the person to be 21 years old or over.';

Plus there is a whole bunch of detailed law in NRS 250 on an underage person mis-representing their age or using fake IDs.

vegasdragoon,

There is a difference between between being asked to take a child out a of a gaming area and being asked to leave the casino. Yes, if a person is asked to leave the casino and told not to return they can be arrested by the police if they return. The person this story is about was asked to take the child away from the machines, not necessarily leave the casino. The men in uniforms were most likely hotel security. Las Vegas Metro Police do not get involved in gaming issues. And a minor in the gaming area is a gaming issue. Gaming Control Officers would be called, not the police.

If the person brought a child into a bar, the charge would have been ';Contributing to the deliquency of a minor.';

Children are not allowed on the casino floor, except to walk through to another destination (rooms, buffet, shows, etc). The lady was most likely escorted out because she was in violation of this code.

I agree with RUSure. The most likely scenario is hotel security escorted them off the property. Metro PD rarely ever enters a casino. If the subject resisted or was a jerk, they can hold them for either Metro PD or Gamming Commission officers to arrive for booking depending on the offense.
