What is it you do every time you are in Vegas? Probably gamble, but is there somewhere/something you do/go to that makes your trip an official Vegas vacation. I%26#39;ve read some people play the ';Where%26#39;s the lonely lady'; game. Some have to see the dancing fountain. What are your traditions? When I go, I%26#39;d like to start my own.
Your Vegas Traditions
buffet eatin%26#39;
I never do it except in Vegas, there I eat nothing else...\
stick to the best; Paris, Rio, Aladdin,Mandalay Bay...or splurge on Wynn, Bellagio
Swimming pool dipping and lounging is a must in summer, better pools for the price than anywhere else
Your Vegas Traditions
I%26#39;m interested in whatever ';finding the lonely lady'; is all about!!
I always make sure I bring back the latest poster of the strip to replace the old one. It was the only keepsake I could afford (and trail round the rest of America) on our first trip as students and it%26#39;s nice to point out the changes to friends and family when they come over.
My girlfriend always makes sure that we get something we can use to remind ourselves of Vegas. Last time it was a wooden spoon, paprika and cutlery from the coca cola shop.
At least one room service meal and a couple hundred through high limit slots. I go to bed at 9PM at home and feel like I%26#39;m really being wild staying up past midnight and sleeping past 5AM.
I can give you my %26#39;traditional%26#39; tourist route : )
First.....a drive down the strip at night...yeah, it%26#39;s one big traffic jam and you spend most of it at a standstill...but that%26#39;s ok...roll down the window%26#39;s turn off the radio, listen to the sounds of the city.....and if the Bellagio fountains are going at the time you%26#39;re stopped there, all the better! That%26#39;s when I say...Man, I love this city !
Next stop, the Rio to watch the Parade in the sky show. Beg for some Mardi Gras beads.
Finally, drive downtown, park at the Horseshoe and go watch the Freemont Street experience. Wander up and down the street, get a great deal on a drink, listen to any of the street musicians, and gamble a little.
The next day during daylight hours, time to hit all the favorite casinos...Mandalay, NYNY, Ceasars Palace and forum shops, Mirage, then cross the street and start down the other side, Wynn, Venetian, Paris, Planet Hollywood, Flamingo, MGM, and if time permits, Palms and Red Rock or Green Valley Ranch.
Last, take in a show!!!! We always find out what our guests interests are, and make sure there is time to take them to a show-the entertainment here, is phenomenal.
Walk the whole strip at least once after pigging out at the buffets.
My Vegas must...
Cruise the strip in a rented convertible at night!
There%26#39;s nothing like it!
I always have to visit all of my friends........the casionos that are my favorites and also the new ones, don%26#39;t want to feel like I%26#39;m missing out on anything!
We try to start our stay Downtown with a ';lucky'; bowl of Binions beans. They are served both in the coffee shop and both snack bars( cheaper in the snack bars but served in styro bowls ). Legend is that the pro players in the old World Series of Poker- when it was at Binions and mostly pros played - always ate the beans for luck. When Harrah%26#39;s bought Binions they briefly took the beans off the menu, but after many protests they are back- a different variety every day- about $3.00 a bowl at the snack bar- with big chunks of ham and a slab of cornbread. We don%26#39;t like the limas or the black eyed peas, but don%26#39;t miss the red beans, black beans , pintos or navy beans - the ';bean of the day'; is on the snack bar blackboard. I knew we were on to something when the ';suits '; from the Golden Nugget across the street were having them too. I can just imgaine Doyle Brunson and the other pros enjoying them as well.
While I don%26#39;t win a great deal in Vegas, I usually win $40 or so or break even on most trips ( Thank you El Cortez roulette), so I%26#39;m afraid to break with my tradition!
Head straight for Smith%26#39;s on Tropicana and Jones to get my supplies. Drive around my ';old neighborhood.';
I walk from the Bally%26#39;s to MGM, stop to see the lions, stop at the cheap stores to buy 28 postcards for the kids in my class,cross the street and walk to the Bellagio.
I try to find at least 2 new off strip restaurants to try.
see the fremont street experience- it just isn%26#39;t the same without going downtown at least one night
