Food comps

I have been reading from the TRs about food comps from gambling, free buffets, etc.

How do you know when you get enough or how does this work?

Food comps

The easiest way to do this (presuming you%26#39;re gambling at the hotel you%26#39;re staying at or one under the same ownership) is to charge all food to your room. Before you check out ask at the players card desk if you%26#39;ve accrued enough comps to cover any or all of these charges.

If you havn%26#39;t got enough comps, you havn%26#39;t lost out anyway.

Food comps

Get a players card at every casino you play in....The one you stay at for sure...and put the card in every time you play a slot...or a table you show the card. Charge the food to your room, and at the end of your stay...........sometimes they will comp your food if you play enough. Sometimes if you are a new card member they will comp you a buffet after a certain amoung of points on the card...Wynn does this...Slotto

Blogger - can you explain a little more - how do you know which hotels are under the same ownership? (ie you could stay at Bellagio and still charge your meals to your room even though you are eating at ____) ??

pearlbob it%26#39;s blagger (not blogger) but I%26#39;ll forgive you.

All the properties that a players card can be used at will be named on the card.

If you%26#39;re unsure about this in advance of going to Vegas, it%26#39;s pretty easy to find out what hotels are under the same ownership by going to a hotel%26#39;s website. On any MGM Mirage hotel%26#39;s site they%26#39;ll be links (often discreetly placed at the bottom of the page) to each of the other MGM properties. Similarly with the websites of Harrah%26#39;s properties.

the two main groups are the MGM/Mirage group, and if you go to www.mirage.com, you can link to the player%26#39;s club link and see which properties are affiliated. The other is the Harrah%26#39;s group and you can do the same process with them. Another smaller group are the station casinos, but they are now all off strip, with one dowtown (main st. station). I know that MGM/Mirage is working to bring all of their properties to one player%26#39;s card, but the vast majority of them are now linked, so for example, if you play at TI and stay at Mirage, all of the points you accrue at TI would count toward comp dollars. We ran about 1500 - 2000 in play (not all lost, but that much played) and got all our food comped, which was about $120 worth or so...

pearlbob, sorry I didn%26#39;t answer the second part of your question. You can%26#39;t have meals at other hotels comped. If you%26#39;re staying at Bellagio you can only get meals at that hotel comped, but you can earn points towards getting these comps at other MGM properties during your stay.

I%26#39;m pretty certain this is correct but I%26#39;m happy to stand corrected if that%26#39;s not the case.....:-)

Sorry about the name typo!

I have Player%26#39;s Cards for the casinos but I didn%26#39;t realize they were all owned by the same group. I just assumed they were all affiliated, like the different owners came together and decided to form a players card group. Interesting!

So let%26#39;s see....if I have a room at Bellagio, I can eat at Shibuya in MGM and get that charged to my room?

And then later on, when I check out of Bellagio, those meals will show up on my bill and could possibly be comped?

Sorry to repeat, but I honestly had no clue about this. I thought the player%26#39;s card comps were solely from betting in the casinos and had nothing to do with the restaurants. I knew meals could be comped, but I just didn%26#39;t know that you could earn points by charging meals to rooms.

';if you are a new card member they will comp you a buffet after a certain amoung of points on the card...Wynn does this...';

So how do you know when you get to that certain amount of points? Does it say somewhere or are you told ahead of time?

They tell you at the Wynn when you sign up for the card....Slotto

With total rewards you can eat at other total rewards properties and charge it to the room and have it taken off your points or comped. I believe player%26#39;s club does not do this yet.
