Imperial Palace or Tropicana

Hi:)

I am hoping you guys can help me decide which of these two hotels I should book. I can get them for the same price: IP or the Trop.

If anyone has stayed at either/both and can give me some tips, pro%26#39;s and con%26#39;s or why one is better than the other, I would love to hear your thoughts.

Without a doubt I%26#39;d go for the Trop. If you can stretch to paying a bit extra for a tower room then it%26#39;s totally no contest. The garden rooms are nowhere near as nice, but still possibly nicer than IP.

Trop%26#39;s pool is much nicer too.

I have gambled at both, never stayed at either. I would give a slight edge to the Trop. To me, the only good thing about IP is the location. I have co-workers here who stayed there last year and got stuck all the way in the back. If you go with the Trop, go with a room in one of the towers, not the Garden rooms. I like the Trop%26#39;s Old School feel and I probably do better in that casino than anywhere else on the Strip. As for pools, the Trop is way better than IP. I don%26#39;t think food is all that great at either. Just my 2c....no offense to the IP lovers out there. Again, I%26#39;m just basing this on experience with their public areas and second-hand accounts of rooms from friends and co-workers who have stayed at each of them.

Stayed at the IP Apr 27-30, for the inexpensive cost of the rooms...visited the Trop,loved it, would stay there instead!!

Thanks guys for your advice, I was leaning towrads the Trop but some many people love the IP an here. I will wait and see if there are any more responses and then decide for sure.

Jeez! I swear I know how to spell and type but obviously from my last post you would know it! Sorry... this is what I get for trying to work, scratch my Vegas itch and surf for airline tickets while talking on the phone. :)

oops...was just reminded by hubby that the Trop I%26#39;m thinkin%26#39; of is actually the Flamingo...my bad....would not stay at the Trop;old,dirty, and not as close as the IP.

Tropicana

trop for the pool, IP for the location. if it%26#39;s your first trip to vegas, i would stay at the IP for sure. the IP pool is just a big rectangle, but at least it%26#39;s not crowded. the tropicana pool is very nice, but it%26#39;s at the far end of the strip.

the room quality is probably about the same. i%26#39;ve stayed at IP and our room was clean enough, though very basic. from what i%26#39;ve read, tropicana isn%26#39;t much nicer and probably a little tackier.

They%26#39;re both mediocre properties. I%26#39;ve stayed at both and would probably return to neither.

Pluses for IP:

Location. In the middle of everything.

Pluses for Tropicana:

Better rooms (avoid the Garden rooms). Better pool.

Food is lousy at both, you will want to go elsewhere. Presuming you%26#39;re going while pools are open I%26#39;d choose the Trop.....but pretty close to a coin flip.
